What processes shape biodiversity?

How are ecological communities changing?

Are biodiversity responses to global change scale-dependent?

My postdoctoral research examines how multiple components of marine biodiversity (alpha, temporal beta and spatial beta diversity) have changed over decadal time- scales. Using times-series data on estuarine fish communities from 65 coastal embayments across the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic coasts, we are building hierarchical models to tease apart localized and global drivers of changes in fish biodiversity at multiple scales.
